£30 per entry plus Saturday All-day Pass

1st Trophy + £125. Trophies for 2nd and 3rd places, medals for all finalists

Open to amateurs only who are 45+ and prepared to prove it. Teachers and professionals are not eligible. This is a freestyle dancing competition.

Rules

This is the Senior Freestyle category and is for mature dancers (over 45).

Couples will dance to music chosen by Britroc Ltd.

Judging will be based on a points system. Points will be awarded for Style, musical interpretation, presentation and technique.

A definite lead and follow must be demonstrated.

Airsteps will not be allowed; you are permitted to do a move where both feet leave the floor as long as one foot remains below the waist of your partner; it would be counted as an air step if both feet were to be above the waist of your partner. Disqualification from the competition will be automatic should a couple attempt any airsteps.

Seducers and drops are permitted but should be delivered in a safe manner. No extra points will be awarded for these moves.

70% of dancing must be recognisable as Modern Jive.

Teachers and professionals are not allowed to enter this category. Britroc Ltd’s definition of a teacher or professional is anyone who has been paid for teaching any form of jive-orientated dance.

Proof of age must be provided in the form of photo ID (passport or drivers licence) that will be required when couples register on competition day.

This category is open to anyone 45 years and over.

Dependent upon the number of judges the maximum score each competitor will vary. However the maximum number of points awarded to an entrant from any one judge is 18 points.

All scores will be recorded and any competitor can contact Britroc Ltd to find out how they did. They can also request feed back from the judges after the competition has ended.
